Birna is now at home with Daniel and Sally and her older Icelandic Sheepdog "sister" Timber and doing very well.

There were actually three pairs here!

Trygg has learned, well mostly learned, his name, and "Come!" and "Sit!" And it's only taken a few tries. More commands to come. All three are mostly sleeping through the night. Trygg wakes up at around 3:30/4:00, whines a little, which I ignore, try to ignore, and goes back to sleep until 5:00. Soon daylight savings time will come and when it does that will be 6:00 a.m. Which sounds much better to me. He's not housebroken - yet. And we're so far not even trying, well, trying hard anyway. His bladder is small still.

 It was, I suppose, inevitable. Kria and Birna left today for their new homes. Now Kit is looking for them everywhere. Tryggur is wondering where his play pals are. Michele and Caitlin bonded with my furry family and left with Kria, the newest member of their canine family, and Birna for Sally and Daniel. Here are some candid photos taken today. I will miss the pups a lot but I know they are going to excellent homes. Through the years I have been extremely lucky to have found so many great homes for my dogs.  Clicking on photos will enlarge them.

Happy Eighth Week Birthday to the Vinlands Icelandic Sheepdog Puppies

The Icelandic Sheepdog Puppies turned eight weeks old and as a special birthday present, ta da, they got their second dose of their worming medicine. Well, at least it tasted good. Some photos taken today: - - -  and a few from earlier. Clicking on photos will enlarge them.

And the very next day

Both girls, Birna and Kria, are scheduled to leave on Saturday as long as the weather holds. We are going to be very lonely and quite down in the dumps I think. This has been a super nice litter. Tryggur apparently is going to stay here. My big fluffy boy, teddy bear.
