Big Jim

I often go to a little old Royal Oak place, The Oaks Family restaurant ( http://royaloak.patch.com/listings/oaks-family-restaurant ) for breakfast. It's a bit of old Royal Oak near my old neighborhoods of Altadena and Lawson streets. I heard this morning that one of the regulars, Big Jim passed way on Sunday. He was almost always there sitting at his end table by himself when I came in but he always had a smile and a greeting for everyone and most people sat and chatted with him for a while. I will miss him terribly. May he rest in peace.
