September 2023

Autumn is here and the garden is beginning to show signs of retreat. There's a nice bunch of autumn flowering Hosta in front of a farm house on the way to Bad Axe. Many Hosta are shade lovers; this one isn't.

Just a short while ago there were large flocks of Hummers at the feeders; now there are only two birds left. I hope they get going before the cold weather really gets here!

An early morning sunrise on a foggy day produced some really nice views.

Ironweed is one of my all time favorite wildflowers.
Similar to a spring flowering Lilac?

Of course the autumn flowering perennial wildflower sunflower.

Wild Viburnums are stsrting to turn red

I prefer orchids that flower in the winter but this one is very nice and it's the first time it has flowered.

Veronica and Daniel showed my Icelandic Sheepdogs Vinlands Tryggur and Samur fra Ibuo Landi aka - Tryggur and Sam at the American Kennel Club show at Goodells, Michigan today. They did very good. Sam and Trygg were having a very hard time concentrating because there were so many dogs around!
