"My" Snapping Turtle

For two years a baby snapping turtle has been living in my very small minnow, goldfish, frog, toad, snake pond. I don't know where it came from, most likely a nearby nest. He (?) has been coming up to the surface to feed along with the fish and growing.  The other day she (?) was up on my porch. I can't imagine how it could it crawl up three steps to get there. Maybe it was telling me it was time to get back to nature. I took it down to the beach and watched it crawl into the pretty aggressive waves. It had a good start. I hope it makes it. This was not my first baby pond snapper. There must be an adult female out in the Lake that climbs up on shore nearby to lay her eggs. Glad I can help! Clicking enlarges photos.
