A Blessing

SHOCKED - It's important NOT to take oneself too seriously.

I recently got a particularly nasty couple of comments on my blog about a photo of a dog that someone had graciously given me permission to copy and post. (The hateful and rude comments have been removed.)

The dog in question resulted from a cross between a fantastic import bred and registered in the mother country of Iceland and a wonderful dog bred by a highly successful and reputable breeder from the western U.S. In other words, it is an extremely well-bred dog. (Full disclosure: - The dog was not one I bred or imported nor is it descended from any of my dogs.)

The photo was taken of the dog during its "teenage months" when, as anyone who really knows our breed can attest, our dogs, somewhat like some human teenagers, sometimes do not look their best. They can be quite gangly and awkward looking for a few months before they acquire their adult 'presence'.

There are only one or two people I know who are ignorant enough and mean-spirited enough to be so un-repentingly nasty. May she live an interesting life, get what she deserves and find what she is looking for.
