The fog rolled in very thick and heavy this morning so I decided to put off an early planned visit to Port Huron and the Farmers' Market. I had seen a couple of Tamarack saplings last week that I was thinking of adding to a wet area in the landscape here. Maybe I'll go later today or next week if they're still open. Please click on photos to enlarge them.

A cicada this week just after emerging from its underground stage.

Earlier this morning before the fog rolled in this doe and her two fawns appeared near Sans Souci (aka the pole barn). Last year she had triplets which are still hanging around.

Korpur in the Clivia playing Hide and Seek

I've been told that it's possible that Pila and Korpur will have great-grandpups this winter. I've always been sad that Korpur wasn't able to compete in the conformation show ring because he was too old when Icelandic Sheepdogs were finally fully accepted into the AKC. Korp did earn several obedience titles however. Pila's son Vinlands Leifur did very well in the show ring. Korpur has one dominant K-gene and is therefore a very rare color for Icelandics; several of those great-grandpups should have his coloring. Hopefully!

Divas Pila and Totty

Pila's great-grandpups (with Korpur too) might arrive this winter. Her sister Tot is an AKC Grand Champion. Like Korp, Pila also has several obedience titles that she earned after she was returned to me but was too old to complete in the breed ring when she got back home.

Unless there's a storm or a storm brewing, there are always ships passing.

This looks like a small cruise or sightseeing ship.

Ships and Sailboat passing.
