First Vet Visit

Yesterday Tryggur, Kria, and Birna went on a car trip and visited the vet for the first time. They were surprisingly very quiet in the crate in the car both there and back. I always travel with my dogs crated - just in case - If I'm ever in a car accident and the car doors are thrown open or someone comes to help me and opens the doors and the dogs escape, I don't want the dogs running out into traffic to be hurt or killed.

Of course they made a very good impression on Dr. Sanford and the staff and they enjoyed being fussed over. Even their first vaccinations went well. They each got a DHLPP-CVK 2-4 without any fuss.(The spelling may be incorrect - Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvo, Par-influenza and canine corona.) They will need a booster from their new vet. They also got a microchip from AVID for identification if they're ever lost. That is also smart for reasons of identification along the way. Have your vet scan between the shoulder blades on their first new-puppy visit, hopefully within 24/48 hours.
