Vinlands Thora - Icelandic Sheepdog - Agility Aficionado

I just received this nice email from Sally who adopted Icelandic Sheepdog Vinlands Thora a few years ago.

Hi Jaime. I hope all is well. I’d lost your email in a computer shift a few years ago so haven’t been able to send any updates. Just got it recently when we purchased some Icelandic wool dryer balls from Crossbreeze and remembered that Thora’s sire, Laki, is there.

Thora and I finally started Agility about a year ago. This summer we have gone to 3 CPE trials and of 15 runs  we qualified in 13. If Thora’s person hadn’t gotten confused twice it would have been 15. She is awesome and does everything I ask without hesitation.

I love, love, love hearing about "my" puppies. I believe Icelandic Sheepdogs are made for performance events like agility and obedience. Unlike a few other breeds known for their agility abilities, Icelandic Sheepdogs pay close attention to their human handlers when they are in the agility ring together. They are an incredibly smart breed and learn the things we ask them to learn in only a few tries whereas some other dog breeds are slow on the draw, in my opinion.

Tuesday Kit and I started taking a beginning obedience class in Lapeer which is about 2 hours from me - a long trip but we both had fun. As long as the weather is nice and I can drive we'll continue.
