Colchicums

I love, love, love Colchicums. In the spring they produce thick daylily-like leaves which produce and store energy for their fall flowers which arise amaryllis-like from the soil in late September. There are several varieties so there are flowers up to Thanksgiving in November. They are always appreciated and, in my opinion, mark a nice end to the summer and the arrival of autumn. What a great way to end the growing season. And, and they spread easily. Maybe too easily.
