Learning 1

Puppies play together sometimes too roughly. That's important for them to do. When they are too rough, their playmate will "Yowlp" and not want to play any more. The rough puppy soon learns by itself that playing rough means no other puppy will play with it and it lightens up.

Puppies that do not get a chance to have play time never learn how to moderate their play. Of course our pups come from a litter and have lots of playmates in the early days but when they get to their new homes, they lack canine companions of similar age. That's one reason why puppy classes are very important especially if they have an opportunity to hone their playing skills. That puppy play time often happens near the end of class when they are naturally more tired.
